Hi!
I was hoping to sign up with you today and switch from my current provider. Unfortunately, they just charged me for the next month, and the payment is non-refundable. As a result, I’ll need to wait until next month to officially make the transition.
However, I was wondering if it would be possible to join today and take advantage of your current offer, but have it effective starting next month? Essentially, I’d pay today, but my membership with you would begin when my current subscription ends.
Does that make sense? Would this arrangement be possible?
Thankyou

Here is the instructions on how to port over your number to PM.
The steps must be followed in exact order if you are porting your number over to PM:
If you have your phone on a monthly payment plan then you need to wait until the contact is over.
Otherwise, you can port over if your previous carrier plan is postpaid then you can port out anytime and will receive credit for unused days.

is your account at the old company prepaid or postpaid? If it is postpaid, it doesn't really matter when you port out because they have to give a refund the unused part of the month. I wouldn't buy the plan at Public Mobile ahead of time unless you think that the plans will get worse later. The plans could get better if you wait and you only get one chance at being a new customer on the new Public Mobile account unless you open more than one account. New customers get a better choice of plans.

Thank you! Could you guide me on how to proceed? Should I purchase the plan now and wait to activate it a month later or a few days before my service with the current provider ends?
Or do I need to set something up in my account immediately after purchase to secure the plan and inform you that I won’t be starting it right away?

@dan999 Yes absolutely you can do that to lock in plan and pre pay , and no worries the plan won’t start untill you activate the sim on the public mobile app . You can also port your number over at time of activation or afterwards . But I would do it few days before your next payment
