Hi all, I recently got the basic $15 dollars a month with autopay which has 250mb of data, for my 12 year-old who is starting high school in Sept 2022. When they reach the 250mb of data, will it continue wracking up astronomically expensive data, or will it simply not allow her to use data anymore? I cannot find anywhere in the account to prevent further data usage once they reach the 250mb.
Thank you!

That amount of data won't last long. But the good thing is... no overage charges with Public Mobile!
Awesome news to any parent 😁

iphone can use standard SMS without an internet connection.
Androids can set the APN to only allow MMS and in effect block normal internet usage on cell data. But then apps and such won't work when not on wifi.

As soon as data allocation as per plan is used, Internet will just STOP and no additional charges will be incurred.
Same as with data add-on - as soon it is used, Internet stops.
PM does not provide additional data even on slower speed.

@ChantiM hi your account is prepaid so when the limit is reached it will stop no hidden bills to add more data you need to buy an add on

it will be stop automatically. They will send out some messages to tell you that you have used % of data, after reach the limit, she could not use the data anymore.

@ChantiM No worry. Once the cap is hit, data stops working UNLESS you go and buy new data add-on.
PM is prepaid service. You buy what you need ahead of time. So, it is no surprise billing here. 🙂
