Is there seriously no WiFi calling with PM?
Had I known this I wouldn't have switched. It's 2025. My own fault, but I thought this was available with every provider out there.

The lack of wifi calling is the reason I switched to Freedom after 8 years with PM. I was otherwise satisfied but this had become a must have feature for me.

Correct
Public Mobile is a no frills providers (hence no WiFi calling), but the fact that we have incredibly cheap roaming plans for the US and Mexico is pretty great IMO. You just have to know no what you're getting with Public Mobile and be okay with it. Maybe we'll get WiFi calling one day, but I certainly wouldn't bank on it.
PS: Telus' WiFi calling implementation isn't great anyway, as it only works in Canada. Rogers' is far superior as it works internationally, and as a bonus you don't have any extra charges for phone calls or texts if you do it over WiFi.

Last time that I asked on the oracle forum a couple of months ago, Public mobile has no plans to offer Wifi calling at the present time.
I guess that Telus needs to offer extra perks for the higher brands like Koodo and Telus. Public mobile is the lowest tier with less features and benefits. Low cost, no frills type of DIY mobile company.

@DennyCrane Another big drawback is there is only roaming offered in the US and Mexico
There are some that have no roaming outside Canada at all, I think Lucky and PCMobile from what I remember.

Yeah, none of the tier 3 brands offer WiFi calling (Public, Lucky, or Chatr). Thankfully it's prepaid so you can leave at any time if the service doesn't work for you.
Another big drawback is there is only roaming offered in the US and Mexico, so beyond that there's no service at all. This can be a nuisance if you're trying to receive two factor authentication codes via SMS.

@Thebigdirty Last time I checked lack of wifi calling was a tier 3 prepaid thing and neither Lucky nor Chatr had it either.

Hey @Thebigdirty
Sadly Public Mobile doesn't offer WiFi Calling. Only their Sister brands Koodo and Telus offer it. This is a very low budget company.
