I’m on a $30 4G plan and saw the advertised $29 5g plan and wanted to switch it turns out I can’t do so in my account so I reached out to a CSA on here and he told me that he doesn’t have the ability to change my plan! 😂
why do they want me to port to another company over $12 per year? Seams like a loss of $12 per year is better than me leaving for a loss of $348 per year plus a negative view of the company.
Strange business model. 🤦♂️

@MaxA You won't lose those with a plan switch. You're good. That fine print is talking about promotions that are tied to specific plans.

I would hope you're right, but if I click on "Change Subscription" and then on "The Fine Print" it says "Bonus data will renew each subscription renewal unless you cancel or change your rate plan." The "unless" implies it's lost with a plan change, which halfways makes sense since a new plan would likely include a better data speed and not be exactly comparable. Nevertheless, sort of unkind if they do erase it upon a plan change.

@MaxA- If you are referring to the old Christmas (?) bonuses that PM used to give, those would not be lost if you changed plans.

In addition, it looks like I'd lose my 11 GB of bonus data add-ons if I changed plans from $25/mo 1GB at 3G. Frustrating that they aren't offering a free swap to their $19/mo 1 GB 4G plan - faster speed for lower cost, not being offered to loyal customers, just new ones.

It's the latest trend in business marketing/development. Spend more money on new customer acquisitions vs spending a little money to retain existing customers. I think they teach this at all the great business schools.

Fr? They suggest port out too?

It is a sales pitch to lure new members to PM at a lower price plan. That is why the agent suggest you port out and back to PM as a new member.
Personally not worth the hassle for just $1 discount/month.

With Public mobile,it appears that we can only choose plans that cost higher than current plan. If you want the lower price plan you have to switch to another service provider and then come back to public mobile as a new customer with the lower plan..long and painful process..makes me think twice before I go for a higher costing plan as I won't be able to come back to my existing cost..

hi @Infernovideo yes, we are told Om support agent won't help to change plan to those not appear in the My Account
I guess just wait and we saw that PM will eventually let existing customers to enjoy those good plans too. Also, PM will also text selected customers for some good deals. So, I guess be patient for your turn
