Why the constant messages about 3G in MB?

Why are we constantly getting the same messages about 3G shutting down in Manitoba? Rural 3G was supposedly ending Dec. 31, 2025. Did it actually not end? Surely by now anyone with 3G-only copability would have realized by now that things aren't working. At the very least the message should be updated: apparently Brandon and Winnipeg still have 3G and allegedly will see 3G shut down Mar. 31, 2026.

Since you had an incompatible phone until recently, perhaps their system hasn't detected the change or their notification list hasn't been updated yet.

Not sure your perspective is accurate. For some reason my wife does not receive those message to her phone (also on Public Mobile), but I do. Also when I click the unsubscribe link in the message, "Msg opt out: respond unsubscribe or click publicmobile.ca/sl/YGTOaTz66k", the requester states, "Please let us know why you decided to unsubscribe from all marketing text messages". Note the phrase "all marketing text messages." So evidently that does appear to be considered a marketing message. The message includes the following:

***snip***

Public Mobile here. Important upcoming network changes that will impact your service in Manitoba.
The 3G network will be shutting down in Manitoba (excluding Winnipeg & Brandon).
After the shutdown, you will lose the ability to make or receive calls, including 911…

Nope, not using 3G, is on 5G. Looks like perhaps I can unsubscribe from those messages. I hope that doesn't block ALL announcements. I did have an iPhone 7 until recently, which is apparently incompatible with VoLTE on Public Mobile (but not elsewhere). So I bought a new iPhone 16e.

These types of messages can not be unsubsribed from as they are not considered marketing messages.

If you are getting a lot of messages, perhaps you are still using 3G for calling. I haven't got a single one.
