Why does the “Take a Survey” pop up when you are in the process of typing a post or replying to one?
Its a PITA

You are correct about the cookies. I've examined my logs and even done few tests. It turns out my scriptblocker and adblocker aren't called into service very often here (aside from killing Simon), but my browser privacy settings and cookie autodeleter have been very busy filtering out trash from this site.
Either way, I'm never interrupted by this annoying popup.

Yes have done survey numerous times.....no...not back to where you were.
In the past it never popped up during input. Sloppy IT work.

There is a choice not to answer anything , isn't it? I think I clicked it (once or multiple times?) and it "killed" it.. until you use another browser or cleared cache 🙂
More specifically, it's the cookies that determine if you'll see the survey. I agree that the survey is an annoyance, and believe it or not, I've even given contructive feedback about that feedback survey itself. While I'm sure that some of the comments are quickly examined by Public Mobile, that's no guarantee that they'll get it right when it comes to the design of this website. The relatively recent redesign of this Community website is an example of many things gone wrong.

@CountyDownIeUk - because PM REALLLY wants your opinion.
That is stupid though.
Start a post, pop up to do a survey...then what happens?
Have you ever completed the survey? I wonder if it goes back to the post from which you started?

Why do the pop up surveys happen in the middle of a post. It’s annoying.

Lol....not clearing cookies ( I have no idea how to do this) explains why I haven't seen the survey in years ( like 2) looks like I will keep it that way as that survey pop up was very annoying!

I can confirm that the deletion of the cookies is what's actually causing all of this. When it comes to the survey, customers have no way of knowing if anyone has read the feedback or if any of the suggestions will be implemented. The Community redesign is unrelated to you repeatedly seeing the survey (this was happening before too), although I believe that the redesign is almost unviversally disliked, including by myself as confusing and difficult to use.

Maybe they'll be rudely persistent until you fill out the stupid survey. But happily leave you alone (for a while) once you've given them what they want.
Playing nice is worth trying if you aren't willing to get as heavyhanded as they are.

I ignored it the first time. I adblocker-killed it the second time. Never saw it again.
Idle time should be reset to be a bit longer than rubbing an eye😂😂
You, in my mind, have confirmed that PM IT is not very good and perhaps took old versions, made the revisions, and rolled the new out with old redundant stuff and settings. It’s like a gong show where we are the Guinea pigs and have to report back the modifications required......that likely will not be fixed.

@esjliv wrote:@CountyDownIeUk - well if you are clearing history and cookies several times often, that is maybe why you are getting these popups more often?
These settings are having no effect because they're unrelated to this problem. You need to block or filter the webscript from running if you don't want to ever see it again.
I blocked it many months ago and it stayed blocked even if PM decided to change the conditions or frequency of it triggering.
Download a decent ad blocker (like AdBlock Plus), install it, restart the browser, then right-click on offensive objects and "Block this element" whenever they appear.

But, right before you post/reply...every time?

@CountyDownIeUk Yep, it's become particularly annoying since the launch of this new format. There should be an option for frequent users to disable it.
@esjliv It seems to pop up way more than in the past when trying to reply for some reason. I just don't see why we have to have it pop up every time we sign in anyhow.

@CountyDownIeUk - 'cause it doesn't want you to post, but survey instead!
Do you get those often? I usually only get them once after i clear browser cookie/cache. Then say no, and they don't seem to come back.
But, they show up more often in incognito mode, of course.
