I love the forum and how quick I can find answers to a question. The price points are great not to mention the rewards you can earn. All and all its been great being a PM customer.

Its the cheapest cell phone.plan
I took $40 month, unlimited text, Canada wide and 4 GB of data.

Definetly the stable pricing and the rewards. Rather than my bill inching upwards its slowly inching downwards. With a little effort you can eventually get it to $0.

Public Mobile, the way I say it, is almost pricing and being inexpensive after earning rewards. Get rid of the rewards and I don't think there's much left to make Public stand out over the others.

@3s_Plenty wrote:Definitely the pricing. They offer the best value for what were willing to spend on cells. So far our service has been no different than when we were with the "big guys", the rewards are also a nice plus.
I suppose that's because, in effect, you're still with one of the "big guys"(Telus)..... you're just paying less.

Public Mobile reminds me of a good politician. Silent and effective. Not trying to take all your hard earned money with different fees/taxes. Stable and able to do the right thing without pissing off the masses.

That's quite the savings! Welcome to PM:)

Public mobile's reward system is the biggest incentive to join or stay with Public Mobile. No overages or surprise charges. Telus coverage across Canada.

I like it for the rewards, prepaid format that functions practically like postpaid, reasonably priced plans and no hardware sales to distort pricing.

I doubt Telus will shut down PM. Telus will not let Rogers and Bell have all the fun with Chatr and Lucky respectively at the tier 3 provider level.
The CBC news item is 6 years old back in 2014 after Telus took over old Public Mobile.
Yes, Telus did shutdown old Public Mobile CDMA network after all old PM subscribers moved to Telus 3G network using SIM card.

"Telus says it will start shutting down Public Mobile's cellphone network in May, moving the more than 260,000 discount customers to its main network over a period of several months."

Care to elaborate..... saw it where? 🤔
I'd doubt it too, seen these types of rumours circulate several times before too. So far, luckily, they haven't become more than rumours:)

The reasonable price, and in my case, on the $15 plan, the unlimited incoming minutes that my previous provider(Lucky) didn't have, and, of course, the rewards. The occasional freebies & contests are just a bonus, since I wasn't even aware of them 'til I moved over here.
@Stephen_Wilson as for Telus "shutting it down", unless they were to offer something similar, via either their own brand, or Koodo, I'd be moving over to the folks with a better signal in my area.

The savings and the reward program that allows you to save more on your plan costs. Also, the bonus perks like free 1GB data and 400 free minutes.

@XionBunny wrote:The discounts mainly, if those went away I think most would leave.
The rewards is like an invisible contract to lock subscribers with PM. The more rewards you get, the harder it is for you to leave PM or switch to a new promo plan available to new activation only.

👍 @Nickwood247 With me it's always about the savings. Which I manage to spend elsewhere, leaving me to think there's a proverbial hole in my pocket.😎
