Why am I charged Ontario HST 13% when I don't live in that province.

New customer noticed the charge on the first month. Have not been in ontario since the start of the plan. Credit card billing address is not in ontario either.

How to Change Your Phone Number

You can change your phone number up to 4 times every 30 days after you’ve activated.

To change your phone number follow these steps:

1. Log in to the Public Mobile app or My Account
2. Select the ‘Profile’ tab
3. Select the pencil icon next to your current phone number
4. Select your province and city
5. Choose your number from the options provided
6. You can choose to refresh the list of numbers if you want more options
7. Once you’ve selected the desired number select ‘Save Changes’

Congratulations you’ve successfully changed your phone number!

The number will not change. If you wish to pay different taxes then you'll need to select a number from whatever province. Fun fact, choose AB and you can then pay only 5%.

Does your number have an Ontario area code? I believe the taxes are determined by the area code of the number you have as you can use Public Mobile without providing a credit card and billing address.

Taxes are based on the area code of your phone number. Area codes belong to specific provinces. Specific provinces have their own tax rates.
