I switched carriers. I was paying for 5G on PM but wasn't getting it. With the new carrier, I am getting 5G

I went through the whole process of dealing with a weak signal in my particular neighborhood about a year ago.
FWIW, you need to document your weak signal problem. Get the Signal Strength app and determine your signal dbm (the bars on your phone are almost meaningless). Get the Tower Locator app and determine the location of your nearest applicable Tower and micro transceivers. Do a speed test and determine your download and upload speeds. Take screenshots of everything.
You need to message the customer agents.

Once they reply to you, you need to explain your situation and provide them with your screenshots. About the only thing they can do is to reset their Network on their end and sometimes that may temporarily give you a better connection and signal.
If it is determined that there is a system problem (e.g. tower issue or tower is too far), you might then be escalated to Telus tech support. When that happens, you will actually get an email and even a telephone call from Telus.
In my situation, they explained that Telus would need to upgrade or add a micro transceiver near my location. Unfortunately, there is no budget or plan to do so at this time. They did give me a $10 credit as compensation for the system issue. Hopefully, you have better luck.

@MrJLlC Is it just that you don't see many bars in the phone's status, or are there problems with calls/data? I almost never get more than one or two bars at home but the phone works fine. I assume you have the phone set to 4G/LTE?

My friends using Roger's do get an excellent signal strength

if you're using a hard sim...consider trying that sim in a different cell...(ignore this if using esim). Do your friends or others around you have the same experience with their service. You might be in an area where there's poor signal for Telus / Bell...but Rogers or others might have a better signal.

It gets better on certain spots, but overall it's a weak signal

@MrJLlC , what model of phone are you using? I believe there is movement afoot to repurpose the 850 Mhz spectrum from 3G to 4G. This could affect performance for older phones that don't have full 4G capability, particularly VoLTE for calls.

is this something that just started happening all of a sudden ? Does that signal improve as you move around ? Have you tried going in to cellphone settings and manually select 4G / LTE instead of 5G ?
