you need to call Virgin to resume the service back so you can request porting number. Or ask Virgin to see if they are willing to take your verbal approval for the porting
After Virgin agrees, or you have the Virgin service resumed, then ask PM to re-request the porting. You might want to message PM. Since you cannot properly login, you won't be able to open the preferred Chatbot ticket. So, you will need to message them here:

@Bridgette1 If you have stopped your Virgin service then your number can't be transferred. Just choose a new PM number and put in your Public Mobile sim and restart the phone. If you really want to transfer your Virgin number you will have to talk to Virgin. If you need customer service send a private message using this link

An agent will reply at the envelope icon top right of this page or tap your avatar for messages.

@Bridgette1 Customer service is all online by messaging with Public Mobile. If you need phone support it might not be the carrier for you. Have you already signed up for a Public Mobile account?

I received a new hard sim from Public. I haven’t done anything with old virgin account or my phone. I’m not good with chat. I’d prefer to talk to someone.

@Bridgette1 If you already replied Yes to the port authorization from your old carrier, and the old carrier sim now no longer works, you don't need to wait to be told to install the Public Mobile sim, just put it in the phone and restart it.

Did you buy a hard sim or esim for your new plan ? During the activation process, you're given opportunity to port your old number in to Public Mobile...but your old account must still be active so don't cancel it.
