Can’t phone in to retrieve my messages. Error performing request. Unknown error. Shows up on my screen. Help

Perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings.

This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Iphone:

To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode.

Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.

android:

Find and tap Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.

Try calling 1-778-580-4001. If it works then the voicemail access number your phone is set up on is being the problem. Some of them have been re-purposed.

You can call your own number or there are some VM #s that work too with 4001 ending being a popular one. Kind of a pain if you can't just click on voicemails notification, but there is still a work around

Try from a landline to see if it works

Or reboot your phone once and try again

Dial your own number from your cell phone and you can retrieve your messages.
