Voicemail greeting with recorded name

Funkdoc

Just finished setting up my voicemail. I recorded my name, as requested, then skipped the personal greeting part.

I was assuming this would set up an automated greeting using my recorded name (for example “You’ve reached the voicemail box of RECORDED NAME …” or whatever the generic script the robot voice uses). But no; I tested this, and my greeting is the automated one that doesn’t include a name nor number.

Is this even an option with Public? If no, what’s the point of the recorded name? Who even uses personalized greetings anymore?

Am I just dumb??

@Phil_Adelphus this worked, actually! Thanks!

Won’t be able to use live voicemail, but that’s fine with me.

To set up your voicemail greeting:

1. Hold down the “1” key on your phone keypad. This will dial your voicemail access number.

2. Follow the prompts to set up your password, and record your name and personal greeting.

@Funkdoc   Do you happen to have an iPhone running ios17?  If so you would need to turn off Live Voicemail because Apple's voicemail jumps in first with its own greeting.  Edit I think I misread your post so ignore my response!
