voicemail not working

I recently ported my number over to Public and my voicemail is not working.  I recorded my personal greeting and activated it, but when calls come in, no voicemail available, just a busy tone

hi @bettyboo1 go to your phone dialer settings, check forwarding settings. it should set to a phone number ends with 4001

Did you use your mobile phone to set up very FIRST time voice mail?
You have to do that but only once from mobile. All other changes can be done calling voice mail number from other phone (not pressing '1' on mobile).
Check if voice mail number entered in your mobile is valid (ending with 4001/2).
