Using my phone in the US

I used my phone in the US for the first time yesterday after signing on for the wonderful Canada-US plan! I was thrilled to be able to use my phone as I do at home, including finally being able to use GPS in Bellingham! Yeah! I was confused, however, at the text I received from Public Mobile when I was there, which encouraged me to purchase add ons to be able to use my phone in the US?????? Is it that this is a generic text sent to all? Wouldn't PM know I already have a Canada-US plan, so why would I need ad ons?????🙃

Thanks! I was aware the US no longer supports 3G. That's the reason I upgraded my phone as I frequently travel to the US!

@Flygirl - Yes, the SMS will always encourage to buy add-ons but don't worry about that if you are on a Canada-US plan.

It is a generic SMS sent to all when in the USA, it won't ever say something like this (I have created an imitation text if you are on a Canada-US plan) "Hello, Public Mobile here, welcome to the USA! Looks like you have a Canada-US subscription with us - so don't worry about roaming fees. Also to note: US Carriers have been decommissioning the 3G network - so please make sure that your device is Voice over LTE compatible."
