Depending on where you are going and how long you are staying will help determine your best choice for your needs while traveling in the US for holidays? or Business? Your options:
- Purchase the US roaming add on you need by adding the funds manually to your account balance then choose the add on, confirm and submit the purchase right before you leave Canada or once you arrive in the US. It will expire 240 hours after your purchase time.
- If you will be mostly texting and in urban areas with lots of free wifi you can probably get away with downloading the textnow app for some calling and your outgoing texting. You will be able to recieve pm incoming texts.
- If you will be gone for more than a month and have a dual sim phone you may want to consider getting a mint mobile simcard and plan. They start at $15/3gb ×-3 months=$45 up to 30gb/$35×3=$105.
- Or you can download the fongo app and call forward your pm phone # to your fongo #. Leave your pm sim card in Canada so it can connect to the network to forward your pm calls to fongo.

As others have said, you can login to My Account, then click on "Plan and Add-ons" (tab, right side) and select one of the US Roaming Bundles that let you use your phone physically in the US (as opposed to calling them from Canada).
Unlike most add-ons that don't expire, the US Roaming Bundles expire after 10-days as specified on the add-on. Buying the add-on takes place right away from your current account balance. Two steps:
- Balance: Make sure you have enough $$$ already in your account before buying the Add-On via one-time top-up or vouchers
- Purchase: After you have enough Balance in your account, you can head over and buy the US roaming add-on when you need it (because it expires 10 days after purchase)
Hope that helps! 🙂

You can use your PM phone in the USA but you need to buy the USA add on.
Your plan may "cover" calls to USA "while in Canada" depending on what plan you are on.

Hi @agentcaseyboyle ,
The $50 plan is for use only while you are in Canada, and you can call to the USA.
If you are in USA, you will need to buy Roaming Addons for services while in the USA.

@agentcaseyboyle : You can buy roaming add-ons for use while in the states. They are for 10 24 hour periods. Re-buying timing is still uncertain to the regulars here.
Edit: Without add-ons, you can receive texts but you can't send out. Some have reported that you can receive calls but again not out. No data.
