Use Google web messages when roaming outside NA. It works.

There are a lot of people wondering what to do when travelling outside NA due to Public Mobile not having roaming partners there. Just wanted to say there is a simple solution if you only need texting and already have a foreign sim for data. This works in any country in the world and will cost you nothing (well, a smart plug to keep your public mobile phone power topped up if you don't have any relatives). First thing you got to do is leave your phone in Canada with Public Mobile sim in it of course (hooked up to smart plug to keep power topped up once a day for like 30 min). Before you leave grab your other android phone, login with the same google account and in messages app select DEVICE PAIRING tab, then pair your two phones (either through google account login or 3D barcode). That's it! You will now have ability to not only access all your sms texts but to also reply just like you do at home. (this is way better than 3rd party sms forwarding apps).

The information that I gave is correct.  Simply put, RCS service isn't something that Public Mobile provides.  It is provided by Google.  That's why it works and it will work as long as there is any internet connection.  Also,  as you know, RCS can be accessed from other devices by logging into said Google account.  SMS is not the same thing as RCS, and I stated that the Public Mobile SMS service won't work there (and it doesn't).

RCS isn't a service being provided by Public Mobile.  It only requires an internet connection, any internet connection.  Doing the above will not allow the customer to access Public Mobile's SMS services, nor can an SMS text message be sent from the Public Mobile phone number to anyone not also using RCS (and not everyone does).
