Hello
I’m going to port my number to Bell but my subscription has just been cancelled/suspended today so I can’t receive a text message from Public Mobile. What can I do to get my number ported to Bell?

@Kevin1607 As others have explained, both accounts must be active in order to port a number. This is not just a Public Mobile thing, it's all ports between carriers. I quote from the CRTC:
To keep your phone number "Most importantly, do not cancel your service before you switch to the new provider......"
You will need a new number "If you have already cancelled your services without initiating a transfer to your new service provider"

Three of us have answered your question...including an Oracle. You must have an Active account in order to port away successfully. It's really not providing accurate info to suggest otherwise, I'm afraid.

You can try and contact them yourself using the link below. But you probably will still haft to reactivate you account to port the number out.

you're going to have to pay to renew your PM account so you can successfully port to new provider. If you do pay to renew, you might as well stay for 3 weeks anyhow as you've paid for 30 days service.

sorry @Kevin1607 only active account can be ported. so, you pretty much have no choice but to resume your service, unless you are willing to give up your number

@Kevin1607 , you need to top up and ensure the account is in active status in order to transfer the number out.
