I’m upgrading from an iPhone 5S to an iPhone SE and the question I have is regarding the SIM card. In terms of Public Mobile services (phone, text and 3G features) to transfer, all I need do is transfer the SIM card from the old phone into the new one? Is it as simple as that? Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I had the same question and asked the Apple specialist online. He was in the USA and didn't know at first but learned that all Canada 2020 iPhone SE's are 'simfree'.
Apparently that means 'e sim'. Today I checked further about providers from Apple site and they said to check with the carrier to see if they support 'e sim'. The Apple phone list does not list the two SE phones, the earlier 1st edition and the 2020 2nd edition. (at least I did not notice two different SE phones).
Does Chattr realize that there are two different iPhone SE's? (tomorrow is the release date for the new one).
I'm happy to report that my iPhone SE arrived moments ago and set-up was a breeze. Also can confirm that the iPhone SE does indeed have a slot for a physical SIM card.
Thanks once again everyone.

It’s my understanding that the iPhone SE is actually a dual sim machine. One physical sim and one e-sim.

@Triguy Not so. Usually rebooting an iPhone with the PM SIM installed will automatically set up data service. Plus, installing an earlier backup on the new phone will install all the settings.

@boz Yes it should be pretty well as simple as that on the new phone like that everything should be found pretty well automatically just put your old Sim card in Unless it is an old iPhone SE that you bought from somebody else that may be locked to their network then you’ll have to get it unlocked but otherwise it should be a pretty simple process
