I have an old iPhone that I had previously used with Public. My mom is going to use it and she already has a public account. How to I unlock the iPhone so she can use with her Public sim. Thanks

where you buy it from call to that provider to unlock for free.
but if bring from out Canada try at eBay lower cost.
Phones that have been used before at Public Mobile don't need to be unlocked to use at Pubilc Mobile. Even if it is still locked to Telus, it would continue to work here.

If phone worked BEFORE with PM then it should work now, right?!
Maybe factory reset will do the trick...

What model is the iPhone? Where did it originally come from? Did you use a different provider with the phone since you had service with pm? If so you have to update the carrier profile by first checking for any software updates via wifi and then connect the phone to iTunes and install the carrier profile.

TBH I’m not sure if my sim still works in the phone as I have another phone now and I’m in a different city so we can’t try. Going to try a factory reset. Thanks

and your PM SIM is still working on the Apple SE without issue ? Check again just to make sure it is not a device issue.
I might try a factory reset with your Mom sim inside and see how it goes

Yes we both have active accounts. Her sim works on her phone but not on my iPhone, Apple SE. Carrier on iPhone is Public Mobile 40.0

What iPhone do you have?
An iPhone bought from Apple store is unlocked.
A Koodo, Telus or PM phone will work.
Check lock status here using the IMEI of iPhone.

@Publicmobile02 is your mom SIM working on another phone? Is that an active SIM with an active Public Account linked to it?

Just move the SIM over from her old phone to the new iPhone. You may need to remove or add a spacer to fit in the SIM tray.

@Publicmobile02 your old iPhone was used with Public before, so it will work. Nothing to do
Your Mom's Public SIM is one that is active and working? Just move her Public SIM into your iphone and it should work. Try now
