I just got this phone, never owned a cellphone before and only just today finally got my phone number transferred to this phone. I only just activated this service three days ago on February 10th and I haven't used the phone until just today once my phone number was transferred to it, and yet, out of my 500M of data per month, I have already used 100M and it lists text messages and phone calls (only a couple phone calls and like, two text messages)! I have wifi in my place that my phone uses as well, so how is it I am already up to 100M of data when the only stuff I have done is the two phone calls and two brief text messages (which is not supposed to count towards the data limit?!?!)

Sure! I am new to this, this is my first time in these forums (and my first cell phone as well). It took me some searching, but I figured out how to find that private message.
Anyhow, credit for my help should go out to @dust2dust , they were very fast on the reply with good help. I wish they had replied here so I could give them proper credit. That was a HUGE relief to get that worked out! 👍

Okay, someone else sent me a private message which solved my problem, but I wish to repeat it here to help others out.
I guess there is some sort of buffering that happens where 100M is allocated ahead of time. But when you turn off the ability for apps to use data via the mobile provider, then toggle in and out of airplane mode, it will reset that and show the actual amount. I tried that, turned off the data in my settings then toggled airplane mode and my data usage was more like 0.3M instead.
Whew... that was a relief. Thanks for the help though, I appreciate your efforts. I have built and programmed computers since 1979 yet I couldn't answer my phone earlier today once it was active! Crazy! 😉

Best to login to your account and go to Subscription tab>Usage Breakdown>View Usage History. There is a Filter tab that you can click on Data 7 to 90 days.
Also note that your data is updated twice a day, around noon and midnight.

Maybe you lost your Wi-Fi signal for a moment? Or there is an app that is bypassing the Wi-Fi (WhatsApp has an option to switch to mobile network if the Wi-Fi is not good enough). You can track which app used your mobile network in your settings.

Thanks, but as I said, I haven't use the phone at all. It hasn't left my computer room, sitting next to my wifi. I have only just thrown a couple apps on it today. Like, I literally have only used it for a few hours and haven't left my building with it at all. So, that makes no sense. And the break down of what was used on here ONLY lists phone calls (like, two or three brief ones) and a couple text messages, same comment, which are supposed to be unlimited and not count towards data.
According to my phone, I have only used 184K of data. That's a HUGE discrepancy from 100M!

The 100 MB could be because the cellphone has background applications that use data. Even without knowing it, it is possible that you are using data when not on Wi-Fi. If you don't want to use your data outside your Wi-Fi, you can disable mobile data in your settings.
