Phone cannot dial out or receive calls after crossing into the U.S.

I have a Canada/US/Mexico plan, so that is not the issue.  Have tried powering down the phone.  Have tried putting it in airplane mode temporarily.  Have tried manually connecting to the carrier (AT&T).

Phone is showing AT&T as the carrier.  Data and texts are fine.

@Nacho11

S20 has VoLTE but not compatible with PM system

You might be able to use it last time as US 3G/2G was still there.  Now that VoLTE is the only way to use voice and because your phone's VoLTE is not on PM whitelist, it won't work while you are in US

You will be ok to use voice in Canada as we still have 3G.  But you will see worse voice coverage as the carriers are slowly phasing out 3G network.  3G should be fully decommissioned in a year or two

I'm using a Samsung S20 which had no issues the last time I was in the U.S.

I have tried powering down as well as temporarily putting it in airplane mode.

Phone appears to be VoLTE compatible.

@Nacho11 what phone do you have?  Could be a problem with VoLTE.

And try connect manually to AT&T network

If it you really cannot make calls but data works, use VoIP app like TextNow to make calls using the app with Mobile Data

@Nacho11

Which model phone are you using?  Is it VoLTE compatible with PM network?

If not VoLTE compatible, you will have voice calling issues while in the USA.

Check your IME to see if VoLTE compatible.

You can try to manually select other US partners like T mobile or Verizon also.
