US roaming problem

Was working fine then could not connect or register with a network (AT&T) here is Alaska.  Roaming is turned on, APN looks ok, did reset, restarted phone, still not working

The information provided above has a couple inaccuracies. We have heard from other customers that had been in Alaska and AT&T worked fine. When T-Mobile was the only working roaming partner we learned that they have nothing for us in Alaska. So Alaska didn't work at all. And for the old T-Mobile talk network, while your phone might be able to automatically switch down to 2G GSM from 5G or LTE, there is no 3G. So the only option is 2G GSM only. But that's all if you don't have volte. If you have volte then talk will work just fine. On both.

Hello @Lynnzupan , All great suggestions and troubleshooting steps already provided above. Just wanted to add  a link to U.S. Roaming troubleshooting, and Coverage maps for A&T Wireless and T-Mobile, if it is at all helpful. When I type Alaska into their coverage maps, it returns "No Coverage" at AT&T and "Partner: 3G/2G" at T-Mobile. My guess is that you would want to select the T-Mobile network (manually if you have to), and set it to 3G/2G in order to get service.

Definitely try to force the phone into 4G, not 5G, and see if that works. AT&T roaming only recently started working again, and as of my last test in Washington a week and a half ago, everything worked on AT&T except for 5G data. It could have just been me/my phone, but I would try to force the phone into 4G preferred as a first step.

What isn't working btw? Data? Calls? Text? All of the above? And what roaming package did you buy (or what US plan do to have)?

Out of range? Is this a re-buy of the roaming add-ons? Is your base plan still active? Calls? Real sms texts? Phone set to 4G LTE? Is your phone enabled for volte here yet?

@Lynnzupan  Alaska has traditionally been a tuff spot for coverage AT&T or T mobile if you can connect to it is your only hope

where it was working fine before?  was it working fine in Alaska with AT&T?

PM has no Alaksa roaming for long time.  But just recently , people start reporting they can connect to AT&T in Alaska again.  Try to connect to it manually and try to change network mode to 4G or LTE and do not let it stay in Automatic
