US phone plans

I will be travelling in the US for three months. I have been looking at the US plans offered. I do not understand how it works, I would like to get in touch with customer service but so far all I get is an error code when I try to submit a ticket. Also is there any other plan besides the 15 day renewal plan. I need to be able to use talk and text with data while I am there

has your phone been volte activated yet ? That's another crucial piece of the puzzle. Without volte you're limited to 2G GSM in US as their 3G has been disabled. You'll only be able to connect to T-Mobile and have less than great serviceability.

Here's a partial list of phones that have volte turned on by PM. Scroll to bottom of the page ...hopefully yours is in the list. With volte enabled you'll have superior talkability using T-Mobile and AT&T

You can get the service if you have the Canada US plan (ot thr 15 days roaming addon).  With Canada-US plan, it is cheaper if you are in US for more than 15 days and you have more data. But the timing to change plan is critical, depends when you go US and when your current plan cycle end date

@Sylvia221959 , the 15 day renewal you are referring to is for roaming add-ons.  These are useful if you are going for a short trip of duration of 15 days or less.  There are Canada-US plans that allow you to use your phone seamlessly in the US as if you are actually in Canada.  At the moment, there is just this one.  You can tell by the Canada-US Plan notation.  It is a bit pricey but much better than buying add-ons every 15 days.  Of course you can switch to this plan during the 3 months and go back to a Canada only plan upon return.

Thank you for info. So this looks like I can take my Canadian phone down and use it as I would here in Canada and it would be unlimited talk and text at no extra charge? And don’t have to renew every 15 days? If so that would be great

Hi @Sylvia221959 if you go for a month, pick one of those Canada US plan.   But when you make plan change , you need to check of you want to use Change now or Change in renewal. Give us more details, when will your current plan cycle end, when you go to US and when you come back, will advised
