US call charges.

I am wondering if someone can answer a few questions for me.

If I sign up for the $35 plan and I am in canada but recieve or call a US number, do I get aditional charges on my bill?

Also I am going to the US in Dec. If I sign up for the $50 unlimited Talk Canada & US⁵ plan and I go into the US, can I use my phone without any aditional charges? or will I get hit with fees and roaming charges?

@courtneyf  you will be able to receive a call from the US but you will not be able to make a call to the US on that plan. To be able to make a call you will need to be on the $50 plan or purchase a US/Canada minutes addon.

No, the $50 plan will allow you to make calls to the US only when you are in Canada. If you need your phone to work while you are in the US you will need to purchase a US roaming addon.

Public Mobile is strictly a prepaid service so there aren't any extra charges period.

All the US add-ons are very expensive and not practical for  anyone who goes to the US often or for anyone who goes for an extended stay, such as Snow Birds. It would be very nice if PM offered a decent plan for Snow Birds so they would not have to pay for PM services they cannot use in order to keep their existing plan or to possibly risk losing it if they let their account lapse for too long.

@courtneyf; if you want to be able to use your phone whilst in US, you'll need to take advantage of one of the 10 Day US Roaming add-on options available, as seen below. First step is to load sufficient funds into Available Funds, then go to Purchase Add-on to make your selection. Your 10 days start the moment you buy the add-on so get it just before you leave the country.

Unlimited Talk, International Text and 250MB Data for just $20 for 10 days.
Unlimited Talk and International Text for just $15 for 10 days.
Unlimited Talk for just $8 for 10 days.
Unlimited International Text for just $8 for 10 days.

@courtneyf   Incoming calls from the US and anywhere else globally will not incur charges for you as long as you are in Canada.  Incoming calls would only be a concern for anyone with limited minutes in their plan as it would use up airtime.

@courtneyfYou can receive calls from teh US with your $35 plan.

However $50 won't work in the US alone, you will need to purchase the US Roaming add ons.

Receiving a call from the us is included in pm plans. As for calling out, you can only do so if you have a us calling add on or the US calling included plan.

No extra charges. If you don't have the plan or add on, it just won't work.
