Is there an option for a monthly add on package for snowbirds that go south for 5 months?
Thanks

Yes that is the caveat. Do you have a friend or relative that could mail one to you? Possibly preactivate it first so you would have service as soon as you enter the US. Don"t let your pm sim card connect with a US tower if you have call forwarded it to fongo. Simply remove the pm sim card from your phone before getting to close to the US if driving or remove it while still in airplane mode if flying.

Thanks. When I looked at it it appears you need to be in the US to have SIM card mailed. Or am I missing something? Was hoping to get it set up before I get there.
Thanks

Good phone plans too...google pixel 4, IOgb/month ×12 months $550=$46 per month
Just shocking to be reminded how badly we're fleeced here in the great white north!

To sum it up:
If you just need to make calls and texts and have plenty access to free wifi: a voip app like Textnow is best cos it's FREE
If you also need data and don't want to rely on wifi only, a cheap local US plan as suggested above sure beats any PM roaming package (which lasts only 10 days)

Awesome. I will check it out. Thanks

Usually buying a US SIM card will go farther than any of the PM roaming plans. I recommend checking out Metro by TMobile, or Cricket, as they have unlimited data for a low price during your stay in the US. You can just use your phone as the sole internet browser/provider.

@marykemick...as suggested already, PM has no "snowbird" type of plans. Where are you headed for the winter ?
You can get a free voip apply like TextNow, that will work to call any Cdn or US number as long as you have a wifi signal. Most restaurants, cafes, resorts have free wifi...sometimes you just need to ask for their password. I've used it extensively on winter retreats to Mexico....pre-covid. I know there's other free voip apps so ask around but I like the TextNow app.
Alternative is to get a local sim and a cheap plan from somewhere like Walmart.
Follow previous contributors advise regarding how to deal with your PM account for 5 months.

Get mint mobile and use it it with what suits you best in the following suggestions....
Most important mark on your calendar day 85 of your suspension and day 90. Do not forget when you must unsuspend your account via lost/stolen and/or pay and reactivate your service so you don't lose your phone number and account. Happy travels!

Pm only has 10 day roaming plans. You should consider mint mobile.
