US Roaming not working - Android (Samsung)

kamping1
Good Citizen / Bon Citoyen

I have tried to connect with my purchased US Roaming package (Talk and Text only) but get the message "Not registered on Network". I don't even see the network being avaiable.

As per the chat-bot troubleshooting, I turned on Data Roaming and tried to create a new connection. No luck.

It then asked for me to reset all my network settings - done.

I'm not sure what to do next. Help, please.

I cannot seem to edit the Mobile Internet APN so I tried creting a new one with your settings calling it Mobile Internet 2 but cannot select it for use.

This is the first time trying to roam outside of Canada - first add-on.

(I don't know what "add to tag OP" means).

@Timer this is a 'not registered on network' issue, not an apn issue. Right!?

@kamping1

Is this your first Roaming addon you are using in the USA, or is the the 2nd one that you purchased after the first one exhausted?

add to tag OP

Most all are the same except...

MMS proxy is not an IP address but says mmscproxy.mobility.ca

MMS port says 8799

APN type: internet +mms

APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6

APN roaming protocol: IPv4

APN enabled

Select device model to get customized...It just shows Mobile Internet and Tethered Mobile Internet as options. No device model visible.

Phone is unlocked (not bought from a carrier).

No other phone or SIM card available.

I have been using this phone flawlessly in Canada for the last 6 months. All works well. I take care not to drop, etc.

@kamping1

check this APN settings

select your device modal to get customized,

@computergeek541

because OP did reset all network settings,maybe something missing.

HI @kamping1

Do you have another phone to test the sim card?

You see the network (AT&T) but connect connect and have the message "Not registered on network", it makes me a bit worry, it is your device problem.

did you buy your phone from a carrier?

do turn off device and turn on,, and check your APN.

The APN settings would be the same whether the custoemr is in Canada or the U.S.  Also, incorrect APN settings would not cause a device to not connect to the base network or show a "not registered on network" message.

Under Mobile Networks, Access Point Names (APN) I see Mobile Internet and Tethered Mobile Internet.

What am I checking for?

do turn off device and turn on,, and check your APN.

Data Roaming is enabled.

I de-selected the Select Automatically, and the networks show up.

I see Verizon, AT&T and 313100. I select AT&T and it says "Registering on AT&T..." but then says "Unable to connect. Try later."

Error message shows up as

@kamping1

go to your network and choose AT&T or T-mobile,

and rebooting your device.

Make sure Roaming is enabled on your cell phone...look in settings to confirm.

US Roaming shows as being paid and active.

I looked through some of the articles, but none I looked at were the same (mostly with iPhones).

I will try a CSA.

@kamping1  - Roaming addons are for use whilst in the USA. You are in the USA, right...just checking.

Purchasing an addon is TWO STEPS; be sure to:

  1. Add funds to your account, if you don’t have sufficient funds
  2. Go back to the Add-Ons page and select your Add-On.

If you still see the $s in your Available Funds area, then you need to go back to complete step #2.

Get Help Article and Roaming and things for reference:

If issues persist, submit a ticket to CSA for assistance.
