US Roaming | Network Busy | Fast Busy Signal

Hey all. I posted this 2 weeks ago. It was flagged as "spam" and blocked. Received zero replies. Public Mobile support has been unable to provide a resolution. Hopefully somebody can help me out here. Thanks in advance

I have a CAN / USA / MEX plan. Using a 4g capable phone with Android 14. Data and text are working in the USA but not voice. Fast busy signal. "Network busy." Every time.

Roaming ON.

Mobile Data ON.

voLTE ON

APN settings set as suggested.

Tried manually connecting to T-Mobile

Tried manually connecting to AT&T.

Tried Verizon.

Tried resetting network settings to factory defaults.

Tried restarting multiple times.

Fast busy signal for outgoing calls. Every time. No matter what. "Network busy"

Umdigi phone. Same behaviour with my old samsung phone.

Would anyone have any tricks as to how to resolve this?

Thank you.

"Not Compatible"

Thats it then.

Thanks for your messages

hi @uy your Umidigi might be new but it is not on PM whitelist

you can try to turn on the VOLTE toggle but it might not work.   if it does not work , you have no choice but to get a phone that is compatible with PM system

If the phone not being whitelisted is the final verdict, then I guess this is the end of the road.

Thanks for your responses.

There is a switch on my phone for voLTE. I have it switched on. It is a brand new phone with Android 14. It shows LTE beside the signal strength. Data and sms working good.

Thanks for your replies.

Once again...use the device checker at the end of the article. Just because your cell has VoLTE turned on means nothing. It may not work. Please...check and let us know what it says about your cell.

@uy

it might be...but use the device checker to confirm if it's gonna work with Public Mobile whilst in USA..

hi @uy it is your phone

both your Umidigi and older Samsung are not in PM VoLTE whitelist and hence cannot make calls in  US You can use the IMEI checker here to confirm

https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/get-help/articles/volte

what you need is a newer Samsung phone or a phone that is whitelisted with PM.  You need to think about getting a phone that is on PM whitelist as 3G will be decommissioned I'm Canada soon and you will have the same voice trouble

Yes, the phone is voLTE compatible.

@uy

here's some reading that might apply to you. You cell might just not work whilst in US. There's a device checker at the end of the article...

Its an umidigi.

But its not the phone. My older samaung phone had the exact same issues with US roaming. I could never place a call. T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T. Didnt matter.

My community posts are being blocked. "Marked as spam."

This is more of a test message than anything. Does this happen to anyone else?

I am looking for help with a US roaming problem. But I have been unable to post for 2 weeks in the community. Thanks.
