I recently purchased a 15 day US Roaming add on, when we got to our destination my phone would not connect to any US network. It showed a "SOS" which essentially indicates connection for emergency only. Needless to say I was quite frustrated and would like to compensated for the failed plan.

Yes it would. A great alternative is using a voip app or internet phone. A popular one here is Textnow. It does both talk and text. Connect to the internet on any wifi or get a cell service there with data.

once you get home, send a message to CSA to request credit to your account for the non-functional add-on.

I was in Haines Alaska and yes my phone was on LTE

Where are you trying to connect? Is your phone networks set to LTE?
