Hi.
I'm a new subscriber, and I had a question. For the $39 US-CANADA-MEXICO plan, does it include roaming for calls, txt and data in the US, as well? While in US, can I call US and Canada phone numbers without extra charges? What towers does it connect to in the US?
Thanks.

The S20FE 5G has always had VoLTE on Public Mobile service once the feature was made available. This has never been in question. It's 5G connectivity that has never worked and still doesn't.

It will work on VoLTE at Public Mobile. Please see my previous reply. This isn't speculation but rather information from some testing that an oracle did on the S20 FE that was sold by Telus, Koodo, and Public. Generally, I don't like hearsay, so I'll ask if @will13am can confirm this.

Sorry, Koodo has less limitations for VoLTE. Your phone won't get VoLTE here

Yes. Mine is an S20fe. Currently I'm on Koodo (switching to PB) . I'm in Canada now. I can see LTE symbol. When I make a call (connected) the LTE symbol is still there..

No, that is a S20FE , it won't make it for VoLTE
You can also test it yourself in Canada. Make sure your phone is showing 4G or LTE or 5G first. Then make a call and check if the status shows it dropped to 3G or WCDMA or HSPA. If it does, it is not VoLTE compatible with PM

Model is SM-G781W. I'm planning to use the phone in the US next week. Do you think it will work. I checked the Freedom mobile Device compatibility website for VoLTE and VoLTE, and it shows as compatible for both.

The Samsuing Galaxy S20 FE, mdoel SM-718W, has worked on Public Mobile implmentation of VoLTE from the start.

Yup, s20 is not on the list. For S series, you need S22 and above

What phone do you have?
PM hid the option but it will enable it if your phone is compatible and whitelisted with the system.

@Joe233 There isn't necessarily a VoLTE setting, in PM "certified" phones it is enabled by default without there necessarily being a toggle for it. My iPhone 13 has VoLTE enabled by PM but there's no setting for it in the phone. The first question is what phone do you have, is it on the VoLTE approved list posted earlier in this thread? Does the phone work for voice calls in the USA? If it does most likely VoLTE is enabled unless using T-Mobile's 2G network.

I'm trying to figure out how to turn on VOLTE. I've followed all the instructions to turn on VoLTE, but I don't see the option under Settings > Connections > Mobile connections. I just see the LTE option. Nothing for VoLTE. Could it have gotten hidden by one of the OS updates?

Roaming is on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, whichever works best for where you are. Bear in mind that for voice calls you need a VoLTE approved phone since there is no more 3G in the USA. There's a link to the list here although newer versions of what's on the list, and some other unlisted phones, may also work

Data and texting will still work even with a non-VoLTE phone however.

hi @Joe233
yes, all Canada-US-Mex plan includes calls/text/data in the US as well as in the Mex. When in US, you can call US and Canada and Mexico without extra charges. Basically, you can call all 3 countries within the 3 countries without extra charges
