@Phil_Adelphus

the main idea I offered for OP is to drop that 0

and technically, mobile phone has an area code.

if the mobile number is 0 7890 123 456, the area code is 7890. However, most people would not consider this to be an area code because it does not point to a particular patch of land to which mobile phone “belongs”. It’s basically just part of the number.

But honest , that part of "area code" is more a "mobile carrier code".  It use identifies which carrier owned that number originally or numbers assigned before 2017

@softech   For calling a mobile UK number you don't use the area code, there should be ten numbers after the 44, so it should be 011 +44 **** ******   You use the area code if calling a landline but the OP is calling a mobile so it's different ("mobile code" instead).    The + may be optional, but it shows for a UK cell number in my contacts (which I haven't called in a long time as we usually use iMessage these days).

@kinghun

To call UK, drop the 0 before the area code
For example,

      calling London number 020 8765 4321 should be just call 01144 20 8765 4321 (you can also try +44 20 8765 4321)
       Calling Manchester number 0161 765 4321 should be just 01144 161 765 4321 (you can also try +44 161 7654321

**Calls made to numbers starting with the following UK codes are not included in UK calling from Canada and will not be completed when dialled: 4470, 44870-44879, 44843-44845.

@kinghun   Try this, note it is different for calling a UK cell phone as opposed to a landline
