I have the older 8.5gb/ $50 plan but would like to change it to the newer offering. However, when trying to switch, I get the message, " The cost of this plan is higher than your current available funds". " You will need to make a payment to complete the plan change". I don't understand that. I'm on Auto-pay. Both plans cost the same. Have a couple of other questions about switching and thank you for the help.
1) I have quite a few rewards and holiday promos including a new loyalty reward. Will all those remain after switching?
2) Is there any difference between the two plans aside from the extra 2 gb ?
3) My payment date is tommorrow.. June 15. Will the switch take effect tomorrow when selecting " change on next rewewal" or should I change now ?
4) Anything else do I need to be aware of when switching plans?
Much appreciated

it was probably a good idea to load funds into your account for the switch. there's a high chance it's going to fail, relying on auto-pay. hopefully not though...

Unfortunately promos are almost always for new activations only. But it never hurts to ask! You can look and see if you recieved a text from pm from 5198 on June 4th offering some customers a bonus $20 referral credit if they refer a friend by June 25th.

Wonder since I'm switching , that there might be another promo I'm entitled to before this takes effect tommorow. I know it's the same plan with 2gb more but who knows what's out there.

Hey it's exciting to see that extra $1 reward in your account. I'm two months from two years and I'm excited to go from a loonie to a twoonie in loyalty rewards.

Thank you. Appreciate that.

In all likelihood you wont lose anything making the switch. The exceptions are if you signed up with an ongoing bonus such as 2 GB ongoing bonus data (not add-on data) OR if you signed up on a $10 off every 30 days for 3, 6 or 8 30 day renewals. These type of new customer perks usually say they will be lost if you change plans. I don't think there has been any of the $5 or $10 off for first X months promos for half a year or more. Sooo, chances are you are good to go.

Ok. didn't realize that clicking " next renewal date" again brings up a window. I was focusing on the adding funds message. Are all my rewards safe from the switch? Thanks.

@cpnfantstk did you select to change plan in the next renewal day instead of Immediately? If you choose to change in the next renewal day, they will take money off Autopay when it renews, it will be tomorrow in your case
Yes, the 2 plans are pretty much the same except with the data limit difference.

Here is more information about changing plans. It is recommended to change on next renewal so you don't lose any unused minutes, data, or texts You will still keep your rewards.
