So I just signed up with PM & ported my number over, but I'm still having trouble. Other people are unable to text or call me. Should I wait a couple of hours?

Welcome to the Public Mobile community.
I ported over the numbers from Freedom during the activation process and all three were successfully ported. After I verified everything was working, I ported two Telus numbers and they were perfect. Porting over a Bell Mobility number resulted in a stuck port that required the assistance of the Moderator Team. The Bell port took a total of about two hours which was very good in my opinion.

Thank you. I came from Rogers. It took about 30 minutes.

@ExiaTM, which carrier is the port coming from. This does matter. Ports from within the Telus family are almost instantaneous, freedom is around 30 minutes, Bell is all over the map.

Yes, wait until services on your previous sim is cut off. You will get a text saying porting has been completed. If you don't see anything and services aren't working, you can reach out to the Moderator_Team and they will get back to you in the morning.
