Hello,
Is there a requirement that one has to be in Canada when a new eSim is activated for the first time. I am currently in the US and wants to activate a new number under one of the Canada/US/Mexico plans. I will also be porting a number from NumberBarn.com for which I have all the details. I already have a Telus business connection (Pixel 7 Pro) here that I am using now if that matters. I am planning to put the eSim on the same phone.
Can this be done, I would really appreciate any help.

I am sorry for not making it clear. Yes, it is a Canadian number that I am wanting to register with PM

yes, you can do it
first, porting from Numberbar.com will take around 3 to 7 business days
you can try activate esim with Canada/US/Mexico plan. If things work out, you will be able to make calls and send text and use data right a way. But since you are porting from NB, it will take time and you won't get incoming calls and text, so you also wont' be able to log back into My Account until port is done
if you really need to do it, then start the activation using the app. If you want wait, then wait till you are back it Canada

I can't say for 100% sure as I've never tried this and man do I ever want to try this for giggles.... BUT... you can try using a VPN with a Canadian IP address and try that way. You will have to change your Google store to a Canadian one to download the PM app. Once again, I've never tried this but really curious if it works. I'll be in the US in the next few weeks but not willing to waste $20 to find out if it worked. LOL
EDIT: You have to use a Canadian credit card though... just an FYI.

PM can only port Canadian numbers but not American number. So it depends on the NumberBarn area code number.
