Transferring only one phone to PM

Hello. I have both my phone and my wife's phone on another provider. I want to move just my phone to PM. On the Transfer Number page where you have to approve the transfer, it has you agreeing to port the number AND cancel your account with the old provider. I want to confirm that this process will only move my phone to PM, and will leave my previous provider account containing my wife's phone intact. Thanks.

your number will port to your new PM acct but wifes account will still be active on old network. BTW...why not just start wife on new PM account as well !!

@Kevin_B It will only cancel the one number from the account you want to transfer and leave the second line you have in same account intact no worries

no worries, your account with the other carrier won't be closed as you still have another line there. Many were in similar situation (port only one line out from another account with couple lines) and they went well without hiccup
