Transfer of phone number went wrong

I recently transferred my mother's phone instead of my own by accident and wanted to retransfer my own phone number to fix the problem. Whenever I go back to the transfer page and enter my number, a "sorry, there was a problem, log off and log in back" page pops up. I have tried doing this on a mobile device and laptop but ended up with the same results. I also tried getting a whole new phone number, but it keeps failing to transfer. Can any explain or provide help?

@josephinechan43 you will have to go to your mom's original provider and find a plan for her, then port her number from Public Mobile to the new provider so that she will not lose her origial number. Then you can open a new account in PM and port your number over to PM. when you register in PM, just use a brand new email address. don't use the one you have used to port your mum's number. It will avoid all the hassle. Good luck. 

Is there a PM plan that works for your mom? If so put the SIM in her phone and get her onto the best plan for her. You can then start over by getting a new SIM for yourself. I think you will have to go through her previous provider to get her back to them. PM moderators won’t be able to undo that. Hopefully her old plan is still a current one at her previous provider. Any balance with them is likely gone now as well after porting out.

If your mother's number did fully transfer, I would not try this.  If you port your phone number in, your mother will lose her phone number.

 

I would start out with a brand new account for yourself if your mother's phone number matters to her.

@josephinechan43 You are allow to change once during the renewal time. You have to wait then. 

 

Is it possible you just used the current PM Sim to your own phone to keep communicate to your friends?

@josephinechan43 You probably will be better off contacting the Moderators with this link and explain the situation. It is probably one of those edge cases, they will have to look at. Expect about 48 hours for them to respond. I would suggest the easiest movement is to skip that and setup another Public Mobile account and move your number to that instead.
