How long should my number stay in PM to transfer it to another company?

you can transfer it anytime, PM has no contract

but remember, PM is prepaid and you paid for the next 30 days already.  if you leave earlier than the end of the cycle, you want get money back .  But don't wait till last day too, just in case problem with porting.  If you need to port, do it around the 25th days of the cycle

Up to the customer.  Remember that Public mobile does not offer refunds.  It is a prepaid service.  If you port to another company, you will lose whatever is remaining in your PM plan.  If in no rush, it is probably better to port out near the end of your 30 day cycle.
