I received the following text from PM this morning. It so happens this is also on the PM homepage now. It looks like a slight improvement over my current plan which is $41.25 for "4G" (less throttled - up to 30x faster they say) & 4GB data.
Everything else seems to be the same, meaning it is truly more for less if I'm reading it correctly, with 1 other exception. The 5 GB of data has the number 4 footnote beside it. When you read 4 under "The fine print", it says:
"Plans with 4G LTE data can access maximum LTE download speeds (manufacturer rated at up to 750 Mbps; expected average speeds 12-200 Mbps)."
Yet, on PM's homepage, it has the number 1 footnote that says: "...and plans with 4G speed may reach download speeds up to 100 Mbps, with the coverage and reliability of the LTE network."
So with that contradiction, I don't know what speed is supposed to happen, but I suspect, knowing how cell providers really care a lot & want us customers to have the very best service available at the best possible price... *snicker* 🤣

The up to 750Mbps isn't correct. The download speed is throttled to 100Mbps and the upload speed throttled to 10Mbps (upload throttle unconfirmed). I'm also not certain (through conversation with some other customers) that cusomers on the old 4g plans are receiving any faster than that (they used to). This incorrect advertising has been mentioned to Public Mobile a few times already. I can assure you that they're aware that that there's a contradiction.

Thank you for clarifying. However I'm still trying to deal with customer service because the link didn't work anyway. If I wasn't so frustrated with public mobile these days I'd just have to laugh. Of course I want to stay here but it's seemingly more and more problems as we go along.

In your present plan ($40 for 5GB of 3G data), you are correct. You will just get faster data speeds, which is a good thing.
For OP, his grandfathered plan was $41.25 for 4GB of 4G speed data. Different from your plan.

HI @bluejaywpg yes, I think they are still pinning the "old" new 4G plan announcement. This latest new plan has not be pinned yet
@Dunkman please also ask them to pin the REAL new 4G plan post and not the outdated one.. LoL

@hTideGnow OK thanks. But very interesting because I went to the Announcements section 1st & did not see the post you linked to. Otherwise, I would've simply replied to that one.

This confusion in working has been brought up to PM management by one of the oracles. No official response from PM Management yet.
The speed should be the same as your grandfathered plan. Just more data at $40.

HI @bluejaywpg
Yes, it was announced on 17th

Basically, $15, $25 and $35 are still 3G speed. Anything over is 4g. I think the $40 is the most competitive one. Lucky and Chatr also have $40 for 5Gb but they are on 3G speed, PM has that on 4G speed
