Hi community! I’m heading to Vietnam, Thailand, etc. for a few months, and I’m  aware that my Public Mobile account won’t work over there, so I will be picking up an E-Sim ‘card’ from a local provider while in each country. My question is: Should I keep paying for my Public account while away, or can I make it dormant while traveling?Thank You!

If you are away longer you only need to pay once every 90 days, and then you can repeat the process. I.e. around day 85 or so (don't wait the full 90) resubscribe and then immediately unsubscribe again. Once that 30 day cycle is up it will suspend again, and you go go another 90 days.

Okay, thanks. There are 2 plans for $30.00, so I’ll just keep my current plan as that will be easier. The $34.00 plan looks like it increased by $1.00 to $35.00 now (negligible). So I’ll likely keep paying for 2 months, then put my account to ‘sleep’ for the next 89 days, or less, if I return sooner. And if I’m away longer than that, I’ll start paying monthly after the 89 days. Does that sound like a good plan? It does to me!

Just before you go, log in to your account and pre-pay. If you pre-pay for 2 renewal...you'd have a bit under 5 mos grace. ( 2 X 30 days + 90 days grace while Suspended) Just make sure to re-up before the 90 days suspended or your account is deactivated permanently.

That sounds reasonable. I just hope that I can get the same package/price when I upgrade upon my return?!

You'd only be able to upgrade to plans available when you get back. I'd imagine there'd be similar plans as your current one.

Alternative....if you wanna keep your current plan...disable SUBSCRIBED...then pay ahead your $34 plan for 2 or 3 months.

I believe that I am paying $34.00 per month.

When you log in to your account >Subscriptions & Add-ons > Change Subscription...are there any cheaper plans available to your account ?

@PeteZa

just before you go, you could downgrade to cheapest plan available...UNSUBSCRIBE your plan to stop autopay...but pre-pay a coupla months...then after the last renewal goes Suspended...you have 90 days grace.

Thanks for the info! I’m not sure how long I’ll be away, it could be 100 days, it could be more than 150?…

@PeteZa

how long you away is important. Your acct is deactivated after 90 days Suspended so if you're back before that, you're good to go. Let us know if you're going longer and we can provide other guidance.

added...how much longer than 90 days ? How much are you currently paying for your regular plan ?

Thanks. I’ll likely be gone for longer than 90 days. Any suggestions?

hi  @PeteZa

if you don't need your account, you can stop the autopay and let the account suspened at the end of the current cycle.  You can let the account suspend for as long as 90 days without losing the account or number
