Sim doesn't work after 5 months trip overseas

Val888

I came back to Canada, inserted my SIM card and my phone doesn't connect to the network (SOS icon displayed).

I can't access my Public Mobile account online either, because a code is automatically sent to my phone, and since I can't connect to the network, I never receive it.

Any suggestions?

Hey @Val888

I would have to say you stopped your payments if your account is now closed. Bad news, you lost your phone number. Good news, you came back and just the right time. Some really good Can/US plans are back. Best part, you can get any of them you want. And if you're not a heavy data user, that $21 is right up your alley!!

The $34 Can/US plan seems to be the one stealing the show here.

EDIT: OH. You'd need a brand new SIM card though. Purchase from Amazon, NOT from Public Mobile. Could be up to 3 weeks by mail vs Amazon.

Has your account been activate the whole time?

Under where you enter the code select did not get code and send it to your email

Try and reset your network settings

@Val888   Did you keep up your payments while you were gone, because if you didn't the account will no longer be available after 90 days of non-payment.  I assume if that was the case though it wouldn't be sending the code.  You should be able to get the code by email by hitting Didn't Get the Code, or Resend Code.  It seems fairly common to have problems getting a sim to work again after an absence.
