@Sherbear75  If you’re wanting to join PM you need a new PM SIM card and activate it . But your old  provider sim needs to be active to port number over to PM . Leaving old providers SIM card in the phone you will receive a confirmation text to port by replying YES to the text .you have 90 mins to reply . Then put the new PM SIM card in phone and reboot the phone 

Adding you can port on activation or pick a temp phone number from PM then transfer . Either way when doing this it will ask for old providers account number and IMEI just use the account number as the IMEI is not necessary and only tends to cos hiccups

you can only use a new PM sim card to activate PM account/service.  You can get a Public Mobile sim card from

@Sherbear75 you can use your current active sim card in another phone

but 8f you meant activate new account with current sim, then no.  Only new, and unactibatved sim can be used for new account setup.  You will need to get a new one from nearby Telus/Koodo stores.  Call for availability before you go

@Sherbear75  You can if you just got a new phone take SIM card out of old phone and put in new phone that’s it . But note a SIM card can only be activated once . So if you have an old SIM card that used to work and no longer does . You can’t reuse it .you would need a new SIM card . And create a new account .. more details of what you’re trying to do would be helpful to advise further . Are you trying to activate ? Or replace a SIM card ?
