request Facebook (and Whatsapp) to re-validate. wait 5 to 10 mins. If no sign of the sms, check My Account's Usage history to see if any record of the SMS, it would be from a shortcode
If no trace of it, open ticket with both Facebook (and Whatsapp) and PM. To open ticket with PM , message them:

if you have not with PM for a week yet, please wait a week and try again with both Facebook and Whatsapp. Someone confirmed Whatsapp takes couple day before they able to send the validation text successfully

I got the number from PM
I have tried rebooting the phone multiple time even resetted the network in the phone.
I tried again with whatsapp, the same result. Whatsapp says it could not send verification code and that i should check the number.

is that a new number you got from PM? or did you port your number into PM?
Reboot the phone first, then request Facebook validation once again.
Wait 5 mins. If no text, then login to My Account, check the usage history and see if there is any trace of an SMS sent from Facebook https://myaccount.publicmobile.ca/en/account/plan/usage-details
and is Facebook the only social media you are not receiving the text?

No, I had joined about a month ago, I just wanted to open a social media account but it seems I cannot verify the account with my number

I opened a facebook account and they want to verify my contact information. I punched in my number and there was no text for verification code. I tried with another app (whatsapp). it say they couldn't send me verification code and I should check my number and try. again.
regular text messages and calls are working fine. Just cannot verify my number in social media apps

Well, this is my first number.
I tried verifying my facebook account with my number, it yielded no success, tried with another person number and it worked within seconds

You have to provide more info. WHAT are you trying to actually do? you are not receiving 2FA?

@Pooooo Did you just join PM ? Do any services work ? If it’s just 2FA from other institutions note in can take 3-5 days for them to start comming thru before it’s realized you legitimately ported to new phone carrier . This is a sim card fraud feature to protect you . So if you jay joined and services work give it a few days and it should just start to magically work

you meant you are not receiving 2FA text from social media?
First, do you receive any incoming calls and regular SMS (P2P) from friends? If so, it is good, at least the porting was completed successfully
For 2FA text or other system generated text (A2P), it is normal for them to start coming later. Systems take longer to find out you changed provider and to route the text correctly to the new provider (Public Mobile). Also, financial institutions (banks) or government agencies (e.g, CRA) put this delay on purpose too to avoid SIM Fraud
Usually they will start coming around the 3rd day after porting but it could take as many as 7 days for all the 2FA/A2P text to come.
