Service cancelled, New SP engaged, Refund Request, Remove my CC

WDemon

Public Mobile has closed my account due to me changing provider today, so I can't login there anymore. I want the money I prep-paid on Nov 13, 2025 refunded for the services not delivered on Nov 15, 2025. Thereafter, I want my CC removed from Public Mobile's system.

Thank you

@WDemon

happy to hear you get a refund. The terms of service seemed to indicate you wouldn't get a refund but they must have decided otherwise, in your case. Good luck wherever you go...we'll be here when you return. 😎

It was not early in the cycle, the cycle had not begun as my telephone service stopped as of the rollover date (as if it had not been paid -- but I had prepaid two days earlier -- therefore I'm entitled to a refund by law. Thanks to your links, they have agreed in writing to refund the payment in 3-5 business days.

THANK YOU! 😊

Please tell your legal team that PM just agreed in writing to refund my money in 3-5 business days for pre-paid services not provided. Looks like our legal teams are better than yours. Maybe read up on consumer protection law.

Thank goodness no, not in the Telus family whatsoever.

Provincial law trumps illegal practices, policies and contracts such as demanding payment for services not provided...so do credit card companies. Cheers just the same for the legal advice.

@WDemon

have your legal team explain what this means.. (clipped from Terms of Service)

Can I receive a refund of unused funds if I cancel my service?
Funds added to your account are non-refundable. After ninety days with no active rate plan, your account will be automatically
deactivated and all unused funds will be lost.

Thank you, ticket #6 in the past 24 hours is now filed.
To be clear, the services I pre-paid for were not provided, so I am by law, due a refund.

@WDemon

if you're new cell provider is in the Telus family, you might run into problems if you initiate "charge back" proceedings.

hi @WDemon

Thanks for the helpful info! I will immediately file a dispute with my CC company, and complaints with the CRTC, CCTS, and the Office de la protection du consummateur for services not delivered.

I want to open a ticket to formally request a refund for the services not delivered in good faith.

Sorry @WDemon

PM is a prepaid carrier and no refund.  If you leave early in your cycle, they won't refund you the money
