It can take upto 2 or 3 hours. Meanwhile try rebooting your phone.
Welcome to PM 🙂
It should never take 2 to 3 hours to have service. Service is supposed to start immediately upon completing the activation processs and should start working within seconds. This is true even when porting a nubmer in, for which only the incoming communications will be full functional after the number porting has completed.

@Wuchterl Welcome to public mobile! Feel free to ask any questions you might have. If you are unsure about how to do something come and ask your question before you try.....it can save you from making a mistake and needing a moderator to fix it.

Your service should be up right away if you received PM PIN# text messages and welcome email from PM.
1. Restart your phone and let your phone and PM SIM card to configure your phone. You should be able to call out, text out and data working. You may need to wait a couple hours to get the incoming calls and text working if port your old number to PM during activation process.
2. Check the status of your account by using the email address and password provided by you during online activate. If you activated your plan in-store, follows the link in your welcome email to create your self-serve account.

@Wuchterl we need some more information. If you didn't port, you should have service now. If you ported from a cell provider, up to 3 hours, a voip provider or landline at least 2.5 days. Thanks.

@Wuchterl Have you put the sim in your phone and rebooted? Does public mobile show on your screen? Check your network settings to see if you are connected to public mobile.

Welcome to PM 🙂
note from computergeek541: the fix was likely rebooting the phone, but it doesn't take 2 to 3 hours to go from no service to be in service
