Send MMS using iPhone 4

Gavran

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1.2. Also, I've got an old $25 plan with unlimited picture messaging. Unfortunately I can not send or receive any.

I called PM Support and they told me I need to update my iOS up to version 8. But I can't do it because the latest for iPhone 4 is 7 version.

So, my question is: am I able to send picture messages or not? And, if yes, what settings should I  set up in my phone?

Thanks.

I did use www.unlockit.co.nz service once when I just signed with PM, but couldn't get MMS to work, decided to have another go at it with help of community. I will try again and let you know.

@slayer you need to update the Apn setting by using Safari. See this thread/ solution for details https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/iphone-4-and-public-mobile/m-p/96552#M269...

I wonder if MMS on iPhone 4 is working now and if it doesn't on my phone what do I need to do to make it work?

@Kilerpl,

To access DATA (internet) and MMS, you have to configure your APN.

Step-by-step APN configuration :

Hi,

What makes you think MMS work only with iOS 8.1 or later? And is this version supported at all by an Iphone 4 (or is it too old)?

Thx!

Even iOS 8 isn't working correctly from what I can tell on my wife's i5S and she is running iOS 8.1.3. Moot point for you as the highest you can go regardless for an i4 is iOS 7 as Apple doesn't support iOS 8 for anything below i4S.

The only workaround I can think for pic text is whatsapp.

Works off of data I know but still works and the app is free.

Cheers
