SIM stuck in old phone

My SIM is stuck in my old phone. The SIM card tray broke. I can't get it out without breaking my phone. So I bought a new SIM and new phone. I transferred the Public Mobile app with the others and changed my SIM number but nothing happened. My old phone still gets calls and messages and my new phone doesn't. Can I deactivate the old SIM? What should I do? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi! Thanks for your help. Yes, I did what you said. I think there might have been an hour or more delay from when I changed it to deactivate. Now the old one is deactivated but the new one isn't activated. On my new phone it says No Service and calls and text temporarily unavailable. So now I have 2 phones without a phone number. Should I just wait another hour or so?

Changing SIM card number should be almost immediate.  Don't need to wait.  Check your self service account to make sure that you entered the correct new SIM card number.  No typos or errors in entering the number.

Try to reboot your new phone.  If that does not work, try a network reset of the phone.  Note: this will erase your saved  wifi passwords.

I just changed the SIM card number in my self service account on my new phone. The SIM in the old phone finally deactivated it says SIM not provisioned for voice and I'm not registered on the network but my new one still has no service.

With your new phone and new SIM card, did you pay again and activate the new SIM card?  Or did you change the SIM card number in your self service account?  You should have just changed the SIM card number in your self service account.

once you successfully change the sim number, your old sim should be deactivated. So...did you download the PM app to your new phone...log in to your account...then click on Account...scroll down to find Change Your Sim Card. Once you've done that, you should be good to go on your new phone.
