@Luddite that was something I didn't know! i thought they were exclusively targetting LTE plans. Good to know!

It is being offered to some 3G plan holders. A referral on 3G just told me that they received the offer. I have the same plan and got no msg.

@UselessB I don't believe that's a factor. It's all about what plan you are on now. They have been targetting specific plans with each offer. Maybe yours will come up?
Actually: Are you on a plan with "3G" data speed? If so, I wouldn't hold my breath on getting a Koodo migration offer.
Yes, I'm 3G.

I'd thought voice only (no text) plans can still receive alerts, notifications, and advertisements? Provided, of course, that the phone APN settings/etc are properly configured.
Nope. You get nothing with a voice only plan.

@Jonavin I'm almost certain you can still receive texts from Public Mobile.

@srlawrenthink you misread that... he can't send or receive txt on that number since it is a VOICE ONLY plan
The irony is if he ever did qualify for a migration offer he would never know

Message OFFER to 5133 and see if your number is eligible
Um. Cannot send or receive text on that number.
@Jonavin 5132 works. Or at least, it did during the $40/6 migration plan days.

Ah did not have that one, ty

Have to disagree. I'm on the 500 meg "3G" plan and was offered $35 for 2GB + $100 credit to go to Koodo.

I've never got such offer since I don't have a data plan...
04-17-2018 04:28 PM
@Wonder_why haha Public was already disruptive enough
If Telus lets Koodo run free the other big2 are gonna start whining
04-17-2018 02:11 PM
Too bad Koodo don't let new lines for those deals, otherwise lots of jumping ships
04-16-2018 11:03 PM
@Jonavin I think all migration plans have been since that was a selling point to go post paid
No Large Tabs tho
04-16-2018 07:14 PM
Tab eligible?

@Jonavin I still remember the $50 for 2GB Koodo migration offer lol
Seems a lifetime ago
$50 for 5GB is still good when you consider how many people on Koodo are on that old MB $48 loophole plan
04-02-2018 11:25 AM
Worst case scenario to me I simply downgrade the Public plan
Fall Promo was great package but at this point I really am only keeping it alive because it is too good to cancel
Thats one huge advantage Public has over any Koodo plan
Flexibility
Things like data roll over, not paying for a month you don't need to use, no extra charges

@kav2001cwrote:@tzliu oh give it a few more months there will be another wave
I just doubt as good as this one
Good can be a relative measure. If it's the same migration offer with a price increase in this end, the same offer would actually look better.
Let's look at all the offers to move PM users to Koodo. Prior to the $40 4GB/5GB/6GB offer there were other offers.
Last fall there was a $50 5GB offer that I assume not too many people bit on. There were also promos for other PM users that weren't on Fall Promo. I believe $45 for 4GB was one of these that expired on March 15.
What does that tell us about the next push for PM users to Koodo? Not a whole lot but my guess is that something like $40 for 5GB is about as high as they'll go. They don't want to set the expectation that the longer you wait, the better deal you'll get. People who are holding out will just wait until the very end, but if they feel like the deals are getting worst, they may jump. That is, just the people on the fence. For the rest of us, we'll never leave voluntarily.

Just renewed two lines, good for another 90 days. Worse comes to worst, will downgrade to keep prepaid ~1GB/month and occasional long-distance - Koodo's unlimited Canada calling and 6GB mean nothing.

I didn't sign on with the Public Mobile Community to keep talking about Koodo, lol.
Then why are you actively participating in this thread?

@tzliuwrote:Hopefully there are so few promo users left, TELUS will no longer pay any attention. Wishful thinking, of course. 🙂
If the rfd poll is any indication, at least amongst redflag users, only 2/3 left for Koodo.
