Reopened/Topped up acct. With wrong service provider/ + Not even getting what I paid for!!!! HELP!!!

So I switched from Public to Freedom awhile ago, however between rough times with finances/work I've had an inactive FREEDOM line for roughly 6 months now, with that and the Stress of the Holidays just slowly passing us, not even 2 days ago I accidentally (and don't judge) accidentally being in a rush at the time purchased and applied a brand spanking new activation, plan $50 etc. With yes.... Public Mobile (the wrong provider) PLUS purchased a 16GB Mem. Card from one of their retailer stores in Hamilton, On. Canada. Now... I had meant and honestly at the time thought I was at and dealing with Freedom Mobile (the right provider) however after careful revision of the service or lack there of (data hasn't worked at all not what so ever) 6GB + 2GB bonus my arse!!!! I have come to realize that the 1.5 hrs it took in store to do all this plus all the money I just put out right after the Holidays is got nothing because its not even the right provider. And yes... I realize part of this is foolishly my own mistake.... But not once was I corrected or directed elsewhere because of my idiotic thought process no instead I was upsold a $34.99+tx. Accessory and stood around a store for 1.5hrs for my phone to still not have all that I paid for. So with that said here is my question:

How in the baby jeebus do I get/obtain a transfer of service for the activation and plan I am not even in for 2 days now directed to the correct cell phone company/provider?.....= Public(wrong) to Freedom (right) Thanks kindly.

I dislike wind mobile so much. (Yea i know "freedom") I would rather pay full price for Rogers than have to be with wind mobile for free. I know its sad, but leaving wind mobile was one of the happiest moments of my life. Having the secrity knowing when I send someone a message it actually goes through is a big deal. I'd rather have slow moderator response time on the best and most reliable network in canada vs having live phone support with the worst network in canada.

Anyhow....your options are..get your account issues fixed up and continue with PM ..or port to Freedom and lose the money and time you invested to get here...as a refund as mentioned before is not a realistic option.

If this were a postpaid provider, you could just cancel the services, pretty much without penatty.  Howver, since Public Mobile is a prepaid provider, they have rules specifically set to cover scenarios such as as accidently toppping up or activating a new account, a policy of which is no refunds.

I'm not certain why you would think you were getting your old account reopened when the person would have been going through the process of selecting a phone number for you and typing in your information (name, addresss, e-mail address, etc.), none of which would have beeen necessary to continue using an existing account.

After 6 months of inactivity at Freedom Mobile, that account is closed permanently and there's no way to resume service.  The phone number is also most likely gone and no longer available.

You could try asking the moderators for a refund, but the official policy is that they don't do that. They might do it because the data doesn't work, but usually that would be because they would have been unable to assist you to accomplish that.  Have you already tried to get their help?

Getting a refund is likley to be similar to pulling teeth.  I would say that it would probaably be quicker to get the service working properly.  Once working, Public Mobile's network services are far superior to Freedom's.  One of the only few things that Freedom has going for them is the LTE speeds in all the plans, but right now, I tend to take network reliability over data speeds, espeically wen Public Mobile's and Freedom Mobile's plan pricings are fairly similar (although 3g speeds vs LTE speeds).

@Stephanie4Sorry for your hardship. It sounds like whatever store really wanted the up sales. Not sure what store you speak of as you did not mention but there are no public mobile stores, there are only stores that happen to resell public mobile services. If you want to port out / transfer your number you will need a new service and new plan and new cost for whatever you choose and you will lose whatever you paid at public mobile. You can't go to burgerking and ask them to trade a partially eaten mcdouble from mcdonalds for a whopper. You need to buy a new whopper and throw the mcdouble in the garbage if you are not satisfied.

This is not meant to be judgemental, this is meant to be helpful. Might want to take a step back and think why someone couldn't afford a cell phone for 6 months buys one of the highest priced plans with all these upsales. If you manage your yearly overall cell phone budget maybe you could have permanent service all year round on a cheaper plan. This might be something to consider as plans start at $10 per month ($8 with autopay).  But if you want freedom mobile, then go to freedom mobile and tell them you want to transfer your public mobile phone number to them and give them all of the public mobile account information.  There is really nothing anyone here can help you with unless you wanted help with getting your service working at public mobile.
