Removing Voice mail

My dad just moved over to Public Mobile. He doesn't want to have Voice mail on his phone. Is there a way disable Voice mail?

no way to disable voicemail

if you have access to his phone or know his 4 digits account PIN, you can use Extended absence as a workaround 

there is a simple workaround: 

• dial into your voicemail and log in with your PIN.  (call voicemail from the actual phone or call 1-855-4PUBLIC and enter account pin(
• In the main menu, press 3 (manage greetings),
• then 4 (manage extended absence greeting),
• then 2 (record a new extended absence greeeting) and record a message that indicates to your caller you are not accepting messages. 
• Then press 4 to turn on extended absence
• Finally, press 5 to dissallow anyone to leave you a message.  Problem solved!

There is no way to disable voice mail, unfortunately.

Meaning spammers WILL leave a message or he will have few seconds of silence AND that will be recorded as voice mail.
Once a week he can clean up his vmail box, same as I do.

It used to be an option before volte to reject ALL vmails but with (dumb) volte it was removed. Who needs that volte anyway??????
