I cannot stand text messages and renewed my plan about 4 days ago.
It keeps saying message not sent try again. They only send when i reset my phone.

Yes, this is because unfortunately it's not something that you can fix. It's an issue with the service provided by the company. We have to wait until the service is restored. Or move to another service providor - something I am now seriously considering

@Norodaigh Android phones can spontaneously develop weird texting issues after a period of time. Some things you could try:
1) Clear the cache on the app you use for texting (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-203965/)
2) Clear your system cache (https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-30660)
3) Try a network reset (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-204094/)
4) Try a different texting app if none of the above works. If you're using LG's app right now, I recommend trying Google's Messages app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging). It's free, works well, and if PM ever gets RCS support, this app is ready for it. If you're already using Messages or want to try something different, Textra SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.textra) is very popular, as is Chomp SMS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.p1.chompsms). Both have lot of customization and so on.
As odd as it sounds, changing texting app really sometimes seems to be necessary and works.
EDIT: fixed broken links

And what plan are you on?
If the $10 plan, even though you say you just renewed, there's still a possibility that you've used all your allotted texts.

Is it regular text msg or picture msg. Maybe you can check your apn and mms settings. For android phones on Public Mobile they should be :

MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mb/mmsc
MMSC proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: Not set
APN type: mms
APN protocol: IPv4
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
APN enable/disable: APN enabled
Bearer: Unspecified
MVNO type: GID

@Norodaigh, what plan are you on? When you say it works when you reset your phone, what makes it so?
is your plan listed as active in My Account? Do your other plan features work?
