Price jumps .

I haven't noticed anything new for this price increase but I was "threatened" by Telus that my phone wouldn't work after some particuler date. I don't have Telus. I'm paying way too much now. How do I go back to the 22 dollar plan that used to be 15 dollars ? Or do I just leave public mobile ? Any ideas who is better ? I really don't see much for rewards or a reason to stay. It used to be great.

You can change your plan to plans available on your account ONLY!

If desired plan is NOT visible on your account that means it is NOT available to you and even talking to agent you cannot get it.

Some plans are available to NEW customers only and sometimes some nice plans are offered to existing customers.

In most (all) cases downgrading plan is NOT possible so to get cheaper plan will involve closing current account, losing number and subscribing again (+ cost of new SIM).

Are you referring to the $5 fee charge for using the 3g network?

Yes, it's being blamed on the old phone you might. Telus owns Public Mobile that's why you received the message from them.

They are blaming it on new technology and wants anyone that is using 3g to make and receive phone calls to get a new phone. In the meantime they will charge you extra until you bough a new phone or the shutdown date and your phone cannot be used for phone calls just messages and internet connection.

Those good old days plans are long gone, however every now and then they surprise us with some fairly decent prices that you can accept by sms or in your My Account.
